It’s not surprising that when it translates your eyes’ messages into colours, it adds other messages. Colours become linked with memories, associations, emotions and natural body reactions. Green begins to mean trees and leaves; red subconsciously reminds you of fire.

Английский язык «Диктант для 4 класса»

Диктанты для 4 класса

Unit 1.

There are four seasons in a year. In winter the weather is frosty, slippery and snowy. Autumn is cloudy, foggy, windy and rainy. In spring it is warm. My favourite season is summer. In summer I like to swim and play with my friends.

Unit 2.

I live in a big house. In the house there is a lift. My flat is not very big. There is a living room, a bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom and a hall in my flat. I don`t have a room of my own. I share a room with my brother. In the room there is a sofa and two armchairs. On the wall there is a picture, a shelf and a mirror. At the window there is a TV. There is a lamp near the door. On the floor there is a nice carpet.

Unit 3.

My grandparents live in the country not far from our city. They have a farmhouse. Near the house there is a beautiful garden and a lot of flowerbeds. Behind the house there is a hill and a wood. Behind the wood there is a blue river with a bridge. My grandparents have a horse and a cow. The animals like to eat grass in the field. I like to visit my grandparents in summer and go to a small country church.

Unit 4.

Dictation 1.

Last summer my friends and I went to the forest. The day was fine. We walked and played. Suddenly we saw a small bird. We took the bird home and gave it corn, bread and water.

Dictation 2.

Look at this photo. This is my family. I have got a father, a mother, a brother and a sister. These are my grandpa and grandma. My father is their son. My grandparents live in the country. We like to go there on Saturdays and Sundays.

Unit 5.

In the country we do a lot of activities. I go shopping and buy food. My mother cooks dinner and my sister helps her to lay the table.

Yesterday evening we were together. We ate cake and watched TV. My sister drew pictures and played puzzle. My father translated the text from a magazine. My grandpa read a newspaper. He likes to get new information.

Unit 6.

Dictation 1.

It is autumn now. The weather is very cold and we must wear warm clothes. Yesterday my mother and I went to the shop. There were nice raincoats, suits, T-shirts, but we didn`t buy any. We bought warm boots, a jacket and a beautiful scarf for me and new trousers for my brother.

Dictation 2.

Yesterday I had a birthday. In the morning my mother and went shopping. We bought three bars of chocolate, two bottles of juice, a kilo of oranges, a loaf of bread, a slice of meat and some vegetables. My mother cooked a birthday dinner. She made cucumber salad, meat with potatoes and a cake.

Dictation 3.

In the evening my friends came to my birthday party. I was glad to see them. I had a new dress on and was very happy. We ate a piece of cake and a glass of juice and a cup of tea. We had a very good time. I got a lot of presents: an umbrella, new mittens and chess.

Unit 7.

Dictation 1.

I am very happy because I am a pupil now. I have a new schoolbag. In my bag there are textbooks, exercise-books, felt-tip pens, paints, a sharpener, a rubber, pens and pencils. There is a dictionary in my bag. I need it for my English lessons. My classroom is great. There are lot of desks, a blackboard, a video and a cassette recorder in the classroom.

Dictation 2.

I like to be at school. Our teachers are very polite. They explain rules. At the lessons we count, copy words and discuss problems. Sometimes we retell texts. At the English lessons we often learn poems by heart and answer questions. During the break we usually play. We never speak loudly in the classroom.

Pete and Nick were brothers. One summer day they went to the forest. Suddenly they saw a hedgehog.

“Let’s take the hedgehog home!” said Pete.

“I don’t want to go with you,” said the hedgehog. He rolled into a ball. But the boys didn’t understand him. They took him home.

They put him on the floor. “Let’s play!” they said to the hedgehog. “I don’t want to play! I’m scared!” said the hedgehog. But the boys didn’t understand him.

“The hedgehog must be hungry,” said Pete. “What do hedgehogs eat?” asked Nick. “I think they eat apples,” said Pete. “You are right! I saw a picture in a book. There was a hedgehog carrying an apple,” said Nick.

They gave the hedgehog an apple. “Oh, no! I don’t eat apples! I eat worms!” said the hedgehog. But the boys didn’t understand him.

“The hedgehog must be thirsty,” said Pete. “What do hedgehogs drink?” asked Nick. “They drink milk,” said Pete.  They gave the hedgehog some milk. “Oh, no! I don’t like milk! I am not a baby!” said the hedgehog. But the boys didn’t understand him.

Then their mother came home. “Look, Mum! We’ve got a hedgehog!” said Pete. “But it doesn’t want to play!” said Nick. “And it doesn’t want to eat or drink!” said Pete.

“I’m sad! I’m scared! I want to go home!” said the hedgehog.

And the mother understood him.

“The hedgehog is sad. It’s scared. It wants to go home,” she said to Pete and Nick. “Take him to the forest”.

The brothers brought the hedgehog to the forest.
