Раздел 1. Аудирование

Раздел 1 (Аудирование) включает три вида заданий, из которых первое — на установление соответствия и два других — выбор одного правильного ответа из ряда предложенных. Внимательно прочитайте рекомендации к каждому виду заданий.

Задание №1

Рекомендации к выполнению

В задании №1 необходимо подобрать ответ на вопрос к текстам или диалогам, которые вы прослушаете дважды.

Перед прослушиванием внимательно прочитайте вопрос и те ответы, которые вам надо будет подобрать к прослушанным текстам. Постарайтесь представить, о чём пойдёт речь, какие слова, связанные с этими вопросами, вы можете услышать.

При прослушивании не волнуйтесь, если некоторые слова вам незнакомы или в первый раз вы что-то не поняли. Вам нужно понять общее содержание услышанного.

Подберите к каждому из текстов или диалогов (1-5) наиболее подходящий ответ (А-Е).

Перенесите ответы в таблицу. В верхней строчке проставлены номера текстов или диалогов. В нижней строчке необходимо указать букву соответствующего ответа.

Woman: Does he sleep all the time? Is his nose hot?

Girl: I`m afraid, yes.

Woman: I can give you some medicine, but you`d better show your pet to the vet.

Mr. White: Why do you think so?

Tommy: Because I can see the Moon at night but I can`t see Australia.

Two friends
Once upon a time there lived two mice. One of them lived in a big city. Her name was Minny. Minny’s friend lived in a village. Her name was Maggy. One day Maggy decided to visit Minny. She went to the city by train. She saw many beautiful houses, shops, parks and squares, there were a lot of buses, cars, trams and trolley-buses in the streets. She got to Minny’s house by bus. Maggy was glad to see her friend. “Do you like to live in the city?” Maggy asked Minny. Minny said, “Oh, of course, I like the city. There is a lot of to eat corn and cheese but there’s a big black cat in the Kitchen of every day. the house where I live”. Then Maggy had an idea, “Let’s buy a TV-set for the cat. Paris in China

There is a special place in China. It is part of a city. It looks like Paris. There are famous things from Paris in this city. For example, there is the Eiffel Tower and some other buildings. Everything is like it is in Paris. But it is not real. The town is twelve years old. Many of the shops are empty. There is nobody there. We don’t know how many places are empty there. Chinese owners don’t want to tell us. They think that people will come to the city soon.

House

A man wants a house with a nice view. He doesn’t have the money for it. But he has a plan. He builds his house on top of another house. His house looks strange. It looks like a lot of rocks and plants. People think that his house is not safe. They are afraid. They tell the bosses of the city about it.
The bosses don’t like it, either. They tell the man to destroy his house. If he doesn’t do it, then the leaders will destroy it.

Trees under water

There is a cave under water. The cave falls down.There is an empty space. Water goes in the empty space. The water also takes some trees with it. The trees move down and down. They are under water quickly. Some people film the situation. There is a lot of space under the ground. It is probably 25 acres big. It is not safe. People must go away. It happens in the USA.

Skateboard goat

There’s another «fun world record.» A goat does it. The goat rides on a skateboard.
The goat jumps on the skateboard and rides. It rides for 25 seconds. It travels 36 metres. This is the new record. No other goat can travel more.
The goat’s owner is very proud. The goat is proud, too. It is a clever goat.

Old Bolivian

A man from Bolivia is very old. He says that he is 123 years old. If he says the truth, he is the oldest man in the world.
But we don’t know if he says the truth. He has no paper proving his birth. We cannot be sure about his age. The old man lives in a small village. The village is in the mountains. The old man likes walking around it. It is good for his body.

Boy between walls

A boy has a toy. The toy falls from his hands. The toy falls into a narrow space. The space is between two walls. The boy wants to get the toy. He gets between the two walls but he cannot move. He cannot get out. It is a problem. It is not good to be in there. He gets hurt, too. Firemen come. They help the boy. They break one wall. Then they boy is free. Doctors say that he is fine.

Snow leopard

There is a zoo in Chicago in the USA. The zoo has a new animal. It is a little male snow leopard. The snow leopard is only two months old. Peoplecannot see the snow leopard because he is still very small. People can see him in September. The snow leopard is 10 pounds (4.5 kilograms) heavy. He has no name. North America has only 140snow leopards in the zoos. There are 3,500 to 7,000 snow leopards in the world.

China’s talent

A man in China likes snooker very much. He has a snooker table at home.
The man has a little son. The man doesn’t give the son any toys. The son only can play with the snooker table. The son is now three years old. He plays snooker every day. He is very good at it. He must be very talented. A lot of people admire him.

Columbia fruit.

Police find many boxes with fruit. The fruit is limes. This happens in Colombia. Some of the limes are not real. They look normal but they are plastic. There is cocaine inside the plastic limes. Police take all the drugs. It is one ton of cocaine. The cocaine is worth 45 million euros.

High heels.

Women wear shoes with high heels. These shoes are nice to look at, but they are not good for running. A woman from Germany doesn’t care. She runs with high heels. She is very good at it. She can run fast.She runs 100 meters in 14.531 seconds. It is a new record. There is an interesting race in Berlin. Women run with high heels. The heels must be 7 centimeters high. The woman runs in this race. She is the best.

Контрольное аудирование.

Тема:  Межличностные отношения.

Text 1. “Two Gifts”

Jim and Della were a newly married couple. They loved each other but they were very poor. They rented a small room in one of the dirty streets in the outskirts of New York.

They worked from early morning till late at night but they got very little money for their work. And still they had two treasures – Jim’s gold watch and Della’s beautiful hair.

Christmas holidays were coming and Della thought of presenting Jim with something but she had no money for it. She really did not know what to do. She sat on the sofa and began to cry. Suddenly an idea came to her mind. She got up and stood in front of the looking glass. She saw her beautiful long hair in it. She left the house and in a few minutes she was already at the hairdresser’s shop.

“Will you buy my hair?” she asked. The hairdresser looked at her hair and said, “Yes, I shall. I can give 20 dollars for it.”

Della was very happy. She took the money and went to buy a present for her husband. Soon she saw a very beautiful chain. “I’ll have it, Jim will be very glad,” she said to herself and bought it.

When she came home Jim had been there waiting for her. When he looked at his wife he understood everything. “Why did you do it?” he said.

“Dear Jim, I wanted to give you a present. Here it is.” She gave him a chain that she bought for his watch. But the beautiful chain, Della’s present, was of no use for him. The matter was that he had sold his watch to make a present to his wife. He took a package out of his pocket and gave it to Della. When she opened it, she saw two nice combs.

Text 2. “Why was she angry?”

A young man was in love with a beautiful girl. One day she said to him: “It’s my birthday tomorrow.”  “Oh,”  said the young man, “I’ll send you roses, one rose for each year of your life.”

The same evening he went to a florist’s. As he knew that the girl was twenty-two years old, he paid for twenty-two roses and asked the florist to send them to the girl the next day.

The florist knew the young man very well as he had often bought flowers in his shop before. When the young man left the shop, the florist thought: “This young man is a very good customer. I think that my price was too high. I’ll send ten more roses to his girl.”

He did so. The next morning thirty-two roses were sent to the girl. When the young man came to see her she didn’t want to speak to him. And he never knew why she was so angry with him.

Text 1.         “A Good Lesson”

Once a rich lady phoned the manager of the London Opera House. She said that she wanted to arrange a party and would like to invite one of their well-known singers.

The manager answered that he would make all the necessary arrangements about it. He passed the lady’s invitation to Mr. Roy, the best singer of the theatre. The man had to accept the invitation though he didn’t feel well enough to go to the party after the performance.

However, he took a taxi and a few minutes later came to the lady’s house.

The lady was pleased to see him, but she told him to have supper with the servants. Mr. Roy said nothing. He went to the kitchen, enjoyed his supper and after it sang to the servants with whom he had had supper. The lady didn’t expect him to stay there so long and called him, as she was not pleased with the delay.

“Will you sing something for us?” she asked him.

“I’m sorry, but I’ve already sung. You see I always sing for those people with whom I have supper.”

With these words he left the room. He gave a good lesson to the rich lady.

     Millions of people all over the world are fond of sports and games. Sport helps people to stay in good shape, helps to support health and prevents from illness. Sport makes them more organized and better disciplined in their daily activities.

     We’ve always paid great attention to sport in our schools, colleges and universities. You can hardly find a school without a gym or a sports ground. Every city and town has a few stadiums or swimming pools where local competitions are usually held.

     There are different sporting societies and clubs in Russia. Many of them take part in different international tournaments and are known all over the world. A great number of world records have been set by Russian sportsmen. Our sportsmen also win a lot of gold, silver and bronze medals in the Olympic Games.
